Abstract
Necrotizing fasciitis is a high mortality bacterial infection that develops in the superficial fascia, can progress to the skin and muscle tissues, and causes necrosis. It is generally seen in the extremity, abdomen and genital region. It is rare in the head and neck region. Cervical necrotizing fasciitis is often caused by dental pathologies. Conditions such as advanced age, diabetes mellitus, malnutrition and AIDS increase the risk. It causes mild symptoms in the early period, and there may be no signs on the skin until necrosis progresses. Fever, crepitation, swelling, erythema, severe pain are common symptoms. The most important factor in preventing mortality is early and effective surgical debridement. In addition, broad-spectrum antibiotherapy should be added to the treatment. In this article, the case that applied industrial oil and foreign bodies on the caries in the right 2nd and 3rd mandibular molar teeth and resulted in mortality in a short time after development of cervical necrotizing fasciitis is presented in accordance with relevant literature.

Özet
Nekrotizan fasiit, süperfisiyal fasyada gelişen, cilde ve kas dokulara ilerleyebilen, nekroza neden olan yüksek mortaliteye sahip bakteriyel enfeksiyondur. Genellikle ekstremite, abdomen ve genital bölgede görülür. Baş boyun bölgesinde nadirdir. Servikal nekrotizan fasiite sıklıkla dental patolojiler neden olmaktadır. İleri yaş, diabetes mellitus, malnutrisyon, AİDS gibi durumlar riski arttırmaktadır. Erken dönemde hafif semptomlara neden olur, nekroz ilerleyene kadar ciltte bulguya rastlanmayabilir. Ateş, krepitasyon, şişlik, eritem, şiddetli ağrı sık görülen bulgularıdır. Mortalitenin önlenmesinde en önemli faktör erken ve etkili cerrahi debritmandır. Ayrıca tedaviye geniş spektrumlu antibiyoterapi de eklenmelidir. Bu yazımızda sağ 2. ve 3. mandibular molar dişlerindeki çürüklere yabancı cisimlerle müdahale eden ve sanayi tipi yağ uygulayan, sonrasında servikal nekrotizan fasiit gelişip kısa sürede mortalite ile sonuçlanan vakayı literatür eşliğinde sunacağız.
