LIPOMA OF THE PAROTID GLAND

Abstract
The lipoma was the most commonly diagnosed soft tissue tumor in the body. The lipomas originating from the parotid gland were rare. Parotid lipomas were usually asymptomatic. The most common complaint was painless swelling of the parotid gland. Ultrasonography and magnetic resonance imaging are often preferred to evaluate the location of the tumor and to decide on the appropriate surgical approach. In this study, we aimed to present the clinical, radiologic and surgical features of a case of lipoma originating from the parotid gland in the light of the literature.

Özet
Lipom, vücutta en sık teşhis edilen yumuşak doku tümörüdür. Parotis bezinden köken alan lipomlar nadir izlenmektedir. Parotis yerleşimli lipomlar genellikle asemptomatiktir. En sık şikâyet, parotis bezinde izlenen ağrısız şişliktir. Görüntülemede sıklıkla, tümörün yerini değerlendirmek ve doğru cerrahi yaklaşımı uygulabilmek için ultrasonografi ve manyetik rezonans tercih edilmektedir. Bu çalışmamızda, parotis bezinden köken alan lipom olgusunun klinik, radyolojik ve cerrahi özelliklerinin literatür ışığında sunulması amaçlanmıştır.
