PLEXIFORM NEUROFIBROMA UNASSOCIATED WITH NEUROFIBROMATOSIS TYPE 1 OF THE EXTERNAL EAR CANAL

Abstract
Neurofibromas are relatively common tumours of the nervous system, but only a few cases involving the external ear have been reported. We are reporting here a case of a 7-year-old girl with neurofibroma of the external ear with no history of neurofibromatosis . The primary complaint was conductive hearing loss and cosmetic deformity. There was complete occlusion of the external auditory canal. The swelling was excised. Surgery resulted in an excellent functional and cosmetic outcome. The aim of this study is to analyze the clinical features of isolated neurofibroma of the external ear canal unassociated with neurofibromatosis type 1(NF1) in the light of the literature.

Özet
Nörofibromlar, sinir sisteminin sık görülen tümörlerinden olmasına rağmen, dış kulak yolunda çok nadiren görüldüğü rapor edilmiştir. Biz, Nörofibromatozis öyküsü olmayan, sadece dış kulak yolunda nörofibromu olan 7 yaşındaki hastayı sunduk. Hastanın en önemli şikayetleri iletim tipi duyma kaybı ve kozmetik problemlerdi. Muayenede, dış kulak yolunu tamamen tıkayan nörofibrom gözlendi. Kitle eksize edilerek, dış kulak yolu yeniden şekillendirildi. Kozmetik ve fonksiyonel olarak düzelme sağlandı. Nörofibromatozis Tip 1 ile ilişkilendirilmemiş izole dış kulak yolu Nörofibromunun neden olabileceği klinik durumları, literatür taraması eşliğinde sunduk.
